Business to business IT training
Currently we are training Library and council staff (UKOnline basic IT, ECDL and ITQ (an NVQ qualification in IT etc.), local small businesses like Euro Alloys (MS packages mainly Excel, Word and Access) and nurses and care-workers skills in basic to intermediate level IT.

ECDL is an internationally recognised qualification.
There are two qualifications available, ECDL Essentials and ECDL Extra which are validated through the British Computer Society.
The courses are designed to cover the key concepts of computing, its practical applications and their use in the workplace and society in general. Once both awards have been achieved the ECDL Core Award is automatically gained.

Course Outline
ECDL Essentials is a level 1 award which consists of three units:
Basic Concepts of IT
Hardware, software, storage devices, health &safety, system maintenance, the environment
Using Computers & Managing Files
Set-up, safety, creating folders, copying/moving files, running applications, operating system
Information & Communication
Create, read, reply, forward messages, netiquette,browsers, web sites & search engines
ECDL Extra is a level 2 award which consists of four units:
Word Processing
Formatting/editing text, creating & manipulating tables, mail merge, inserting objects.
Spreadsheets
Insert/edit/format cells, adding formulas, functions, addressing & creating charts
Presentation
Creating and manipulating slide shows, inserting & arranging slides, objects & adding animation
Improving Productivity Using IT
Scenario based questions that assess ability to use IT
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for candidates wishing to demonstrate their competence in computer skills at Levels 1 and 2.
What are the course requirements?
There is a 45 minute test for each ECDL Essential and ECDL Extra unit. All tests are online and your result will be displayed on completion.
